Weight Loss Through Low Carb Diet

Are you or your family members amongst the 65%?

To help with weight issues and for overall improved health, many people turn to diets. In fact, government statistics show that while about 65 percent of Americans are overweight, 38 percent are actually doing something about it.

And according to a recent survey by the National Health Institute, about a third of overweight Americans who are trying to lose weight, are doing so by eating less carbohydrates (carbs) largely because of the increased popularity of fad diets like Atkins Diet and the South Beach Diet.

Although there have certainly been other low-carb or low-sugar diet plans before, and more will most assuredly come out in the years ahead, let’s take a look at the basics behind many of the major plans. And let’s take a look at how they fit into the real world today. Because while it might be great to lower the body’s sugar content and be healthier, wouldn’t it be great to learn how to do so while being part of this fast-paced world?

In the world of instant messaging, quick Internet interaction and the already multi-faceted day-to-day hectic schedules, dietary food budgeting, planning, preparing and shopping are issues that can become major sources of stress and reasons for dieting failure. Dual income families on-the-go and other super-busy wage earners and dieters often already suffer from more than their share of everyday stressors like fears of being laid off, their jobs being relocated or terminated, juggling more than one job, dependents (both elderly and minors) and trying to fund and juggle continuing education into their lives, budgets, and daily routines.

Everything is affected by the way we eat, think and live. We are energetic beings and need to fuel our bodies with alkaline food. It's that easy. Dr. Robert and Shelley Young explain how, and you feel it immediately. The more alkaline you become the more alkaline you want to be. The chapter on drinking water is superb. It reminds me of another great book that I highly value titled "Can We Live 150". I think these two books should be sold together.

Great book, new concepts, alkalizing works; I know it and it will work for you too. Diet is a bit hard to follow and the amount of supplements you need to take can be overwhelming. I must admit though I did cure myself of breast cancer and am still an alkalarian. I was part of ex-Dr. Young's-company "InnerLight" and decided to leave them for many reasons.

MLM company which Dr Young does not control is selling Green powder and pH drops (that don't even raise the pH of water) and other products. The cost is high, and there are a lot of questions of effectiveness.

I recommend you get the book and then look for better alkalizing choices out there. Like new pH drops that I do promote.

The program in this book is so easy and produces great results. I have been on it for 8 weeks and have lost 3.25 inches around my waist, 7 pounds and lowered my cholesterol by 33 points. It is easy to read and understand with simple charts for knowing what to eat. No more measuring or counting calories. The concept is to concentrate on losing inches instead of pounds for optimal health. I thought that I had no choice but to be a fat apple after gaining 1" in waist size for each pound gained after menapause. I thought this was my heredity and destiny, based on the body shapes of my mother an aunts. Not so, I am finding out. I would highly recommend this book and program to anyone interested in reducing there waist size and having a heart healthy, body.
